Unlike many of the other oils that we produce, Road Opening works best when it’s used in work that isn’t too specific. The intention is to achieve your goals, to remove whatever is standing between you and what you want. If the intent is too specific, only that particular obstacle will be removed. Your intention, in using this oil, is for ALL obstacles to be removed.
If you do choose to use a candle to work with Road Opening, a white candle is usually the best color. Rather than carving a petition or statement of intent into the candle, carve your name. Anoint the candle from base to tip, holding the tip of the candle towards you and the base away from you. You can either burn the candle all in one go, or mark the candle into equal sections and burn part of it each night. You can start the candle on any night, but you’ll probably have the best results if you use this oil during the waxing moon. Always snuff or pinch out the candle flame, never blow it out. When the candle is burned as far as it can safely go, run the wick under water to prevent re-lighting. Wrap the candle stub in cloth and bury it respectfully. This is one oil where actually burying the anointed candle stub underneath or near a crossroads would be beneficial.
Other Uses: Put a few drops of the oil into the water you use to wash your floors, or anything else that can safely be washed with soap and water. If a patch test shows no adverse reaction at the current dilution, Road Opening can be used to anoint yourself – a small amount rubbed between the palms before you start your day can have a beneficial effect on whatever obstacles you encounter. If your skin is sensitive, rubbing a few drops on your belt or shoes can have the same effect.
